PlusFraudulent Website Offers Tickets to OlympicsFraudulent Website Offers Tickets to OlympicsThe Associated PressThe U.S. Olympic Committee is again asking a federal judge to shut down a Web site allegedly scamming people on Olympics tickets. (Aug. 4)[Notes:ANCHOR VOICE] If you point your Internet web browser to beijingticketing.com -- this is what you'll see. [Notes:show disabled site]The site--has been shut down --- disabled by its operators Monday. That after the U.S. Olympic Committee asked a federal judge to stop the franchise from fraudulently selling tickets to the Beijing Games. [Notes:olympic broll]This is what the site used to look like-----before it was shutdown....Customers --- like... James Moriarty ((( Mohr--ee-arty))) found out the site was a fake---when they received an e-mail explaining that any 'purchased tickets' would not be delivered. [Notes:setup shots of moriarty][Notes:James Moriarty, Lawyer] [Notes:SOT: my initial reaction was fear -and anger--and lots of very ugly angry words.]Lawyers for the USOC want beijingticketing.com---permanently disabled. [Notes:broll of site]They contend the site has scammed numerous people out of thousands of dollars by falsely promising to deliver tickets to the games starting Friday. Because of the high demand for tickets to the games---- one seller--who is NOT affiliated to beijingticking.com---and asked to remain anonymous----says --when he sells tickets---he makes the price very clear..((sot from unidentified victim))Still --Moriarty says---beijingticketing.com ---was an easy trap to get caught in... [Notes:wide shot of moriarity][Notes:James Moriarty, Lawyer] [Notes:SOT: they had the official olympic logo--and official olympic images.....]A London telephone number posted on the accused Web site has been disconnected, and company representatives did not respond to questions sent by The Associated Press through e-mail.Anyone who purchased a ticket with beijingticketing.com---should contact their credit card companies.... ___ ___, The Associated Press.

Why don't you cover China's financial support of the genocide in Darfur? Or the horrific animal abuses, human rights abuses (10 years of prison for blogging, just one example), to Tibet, to horrible environmental standards, to poisoning us here in the states... Coke, McDonald's, GE, ADIDAS, and others are Supporters of the Genocide Olympics. Google "the color orange." Think the olympics shouldn't be political? TELL THAT TO CHINA: Google: "China revokes visa of gold medalist"

That's what happens when you trust something that you give money to and doesn't physically exist, like the internet dumbasses.

The site looked legit, I.T experts were even fooled. They stated they had offices all around the world & provided phone numbers etc. It was a sophisticated scam, they invested a lot of time into making the website seem genuine so people didn't question anything was out of the ordinary when they purchased tickets.
